Safer Pembrokeshire - Neighbourhoods In Action

What we do

Safer Pembrokeshire is the Community Safety Partnership for the county. The aim of the partnership is to bring together agencies such as the County Council, Police Force & Authority, Fire & Rescue Service and Health Board to help reduce crime, disorder, antisocial behaviour and substance misuse in Pembrokeshire.

Safer Pembrokeshire undertakes regular assessments of crime data, along with consultation with members of the local community, in order to identify issues that are of concern to residents of Pembrokeshire.

Our current priorities that we are working together to tackle include:

  • Drugs and alcohol
  • Violent crime, in particular alcohol-related
  • Domestic abuse
  • Anti-social behaviour and criminal damage
  • Road safety
  • Burglary

Much of the work within Safer Pembrokeshire is around ensuring that agencies are communicating and working together and have the right plans in place to address local priorities.

However, there are a number of front line services provided by Safer Pembrokeshire, including:

  • Services for those misusing substances or those who care for them
  • Schemes to identify & work with prolific offenders
  • Services for victims & perpetrators of Domestic Abuse
  • Assistance for those suffering from Antisocial Behaviour
  • Information and equipment to keep yourself and your property safe
  • Safety and security checks/schemes at pubs and clubs
  • Diversionary activities for young people

Neighbourhoods In Action was a project organised where a week was spent addressing problems within local areas. Projects suggested by communities have covered anything from litter picks and general renovation to environmental projects in schools or graffiti projects with young people.
