The Communities First programme is a Welsh Assembly Government strategy for improving the living conditions and prospects for people in some communities in Wales.The Llanion ward of Pembroke Dock has been designated a Communities First area. People active in their communities, agencies and members of the voluntary, business and statutory sectors have formed a partnership to make things happen in Llanion.

Communities First focuses on key themes:

• Child Poverty
• Environment
• Education and Training
• Health and Well-Being
• Active Community
• Crime and Community Safety
